Time
Time is something that is passing each and every moment, each breath we take another second passes. How are we spending our time? Is it making a difference in the world - in the lives of others? One does not need to seek extravagance to make a difference. Take the time to express appreciation to others, take the time to smile, lift another.

The "Up" in Grownup
When did we all get to be the "up" in grownup?
Yesterday, or so it seemed... we played house, played cops and robbers and went climbing trees in the woods behind the yard.
Those days of summer, laying in the grass looking up in the sky on a beach towel, those days of barely warm weather going down the slip and slide.
The days of fall where we got on the bus for yet another year of school. That funny smell of crispy leaves and school cleaner as you walked through the doors to the beginning...
Christmas break came with anticipation of holiday glow and tons of hope for snow.... sure it rained but there was that one in a dozen when that twenty-fifth morning of December came in a luster of white sheets over the green trees, made everything perfect.
Before we knew it high school came and ended in joy and tears. Parting of ways and new beginnings, invincible we seemed.
Soon college put those short twelve years into a distant past as if they were but a dream. How we have changed, how we have grown... grown together and apart.
Now being in college we are beginning to taste of this place everyone calls the real world. We still talk of what we will be when we grow up and what we will do to make our difference in the world, but what we do not always seem to realize is we are "up" not to say we have ended our progression, but have come to the point where we can make a difference in our world every moment of everyday.
We decided who we are and are deciding who we will become. Everyday a beautiful new opportunity, each offers a chance for learning, new insights, new experiences, a jump for joy and a few shed tears over the broken heart.
It is the accumulation of all things that we live each and every day that makes us a bit stronger, a bit better, a bit closer to our goals and dreams.
Now that we are "up" we continue to rise "up" to the occasion, we are rising "up" in hope to meet our full potential.... rising to all that we can be.

Life Curveballs
Sometimes life throws ya curveballs when you least expect to see them coming. Sometimes they're little things, other times huge things.... so huge they can change your entire life, your entire path, your entire perspective of things were and then how things are now going to be because of that curveball.
Things will never quite be the same as they were, and that can be really hard to deal with. The important thing is you got to keep trying; whatever you do, DO NOT give up.
Its a bit comical to say something slightly encouraging when there is simply not one ounce of encouraging thought left in my being. But really, looking for that silver lining... that's all one can do, all one can really hope for when the dark clouds come rumbling in, threatening a storm of trial. Just got to face it and hope you remembered an umbrella.

A New Perspective
The morning was young going up the canyon. Rain fell over the valley... but not there. There the rocks looked as if clouds had fallen upon them like a blanket over grass for a picnic in the sun. The sun did not shine but the radiance remained. Fog covered the tall overhanging peaks and some of the rugged brown still peaked through the piles of snow. There were but few people in number, perhaps one or two only. The air was wet and chilly, smelled of winter... with a hint of that unique, very defined Utah stink.
Playing ever so softly was the still calm of piano music coming from the speakers of a laptop. At that very moment nothing could have been so perfectly serene, for it was calm, and peaceful, still and beautiful in the most imaginable sort of way.
Sitting a top a hill at the base of a canyon has a certain ere to it. Looking out over the valley you cannot help but think of all the wonder in life. There is no bad feeling taking in the view even when a snowy day clouds the sky with a grey sheet. It reminds me of home and that is a comfort. Reminds me of everything that has been, and is still yet to come. It is a thrill, a curious wonder, like the awe of a child's face during the holiday season. It is what makes everyday worth it, it is the reminder that life is good and no matter how bad things get there will always be good among us.

Ramblings of Dog
So there was this one time in our english class...emmm probably Junior year, we were assigned a prompt on a life in a different thing. Well in all honesty I can say I did not write it on a dog, and even more so cannot even recall what I did write on. How is this relevant you might ask? Well the example used was through the eyes of a dog. Being eight hundred or so miles away from my own dog figured it was a brillant time to make her "blog official"? It is absolutely incredible how intelligent and capable animals are in their communication. Not saying all animals possess such strong intellect, for lack of a better term. But it is actually quite amazing nontheless. My dog can dance, roll over, crawl, spaz, sit, speak, cry, shake, high-five... and maybe one or two other things. This is all completely random but just think she's pretty cool in all her terrierness.

Keep Going
Do not say what you do not mean. Do not do what you do not sincerely feel impowered to do. But do not just not do nothing.
Do what you know to be right. Do what your heart is set on, what you are most compassionate about, regardless of the possible mockery recieved from the outward crowd.
So what if they do not like it, they are not you. They do not have to live with that life long decision... or perhaps that life long consequence.
Hold your head up high, be positive. Take on the world, for it is taking on you. Stay positive, be positive.
In time your journey, though rough and at times perhaps treacherous will be more than worth it, it will be an experience well lived and a dream well achieved.

A First at Blogging
Well not much to say at present... rather than this is the first blog post on this blog... not that, that wasn't obvious. It has proven interesting thus far. If you keep up with this craziness, prepare for some randoms. The productivity of the future of this blog remains in question but it is in effort that there will be more posts. So begins blog life, eat it up!
